Publication Procedure & Estimated Timelines

(Effective from January 2026 — Quarterly Publication)

Wah Academia Journal of Social Sciences (WAJSS) publishes four issues per year (Quarterly) starting from January 2026. The journal follows a transparent, rigorous, and fair publication process to ensure academic quality and integrity.

  1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the journal's designated submission system or official editorial email in accordance with the journal's Instructions for Authors. Manuscripts must meet the journal's requirements regarding scope, originality, authorship, ethical conduct, formatting, and scholarly standards.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal's scope, originality, academic quality, ethical compliance, and conformity with submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors or declined without external peer review.

3. Double-Anonymous Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are evaluated through double-anonymous peer review by at least two independent subject experts who are external to the journal's Editorial Board. The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process.

Reviewers assess the manuscript's originality, academic contribution, methodology, evidence, clarity, coherence, and scholarly quality. Reviewers must declare any potential conflict of interest and must not participate in the review of manuscripts where such a conflict exists.

4. Revision and Editorial Decision

Where revisions are required, authors are invited to respond to reviewers' comments and submit a revised manuscript. The Editor-in-Chief considers the reviewers' reports, authors' responses, the quality of the revised manuscript, and relevant editorial recommendations before making the final editorial decision.

Possible editorial decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.

5. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo editorial preparation, including language editing, formatting, reference checking, and proofreading. Authors may be asked to review and approve the final proofs before publication. Substantive changes after acceptance remain subject to editorial approval.

6. Publication

Following completion of the editorial and production process, accepted articles are published in the journal's scheduled quarterly issues and made freely available online under the journal's stated open-access and licensing terms.

Publication Schedule:

  • Issue 1: January–March
  • Issue 2: April–June
  • Issue 3: July–September
  • Issue 4: October–December

The journal does not guarantee acceptance or publication within a predetermined period. Publication timing may depend on the completion of peer review, revisions, editorial processing, production, and the journal's publication schedule.

7. Special Issues

Articles submitted for special issues are subject to the same editorial, ethical, and peer-review standards as articles published in regular issues. Guest editors, where appointed, do not make final publication decisions independently of the journal's established editorial process.
