The paper presents a detailed analysis of the impact of immigration on the Portuguese economy, using macroeconomic, labor market, and econometric analysis to create a complete picture. The analysis is based on panel and microdata from various sources, including Statistics Portugal (INE), Eurostat, and the Labour Force Survey, covering the period 2010-2024. The paper estimates the impact of immigration on employment, wages, productivity, and public finances. The study has addressed endogeneity concerns by using fixed effects and instrumental variable regressions with shift-share instruments.
