Archiving Policy

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Archiving Policy is to establish guidelines for the preservation, accessibility, and long-term archiving of research articles published in Wah Academia Journal of Social Sciences (WAJSS). This policy ensures that the scholarly content published in WAJSS remains accessible and preserved for future generations, supporting the advancement of knowledge in the field of social sciences.

2. Archiving Platforms

WAJSS is committed to archiving its content on reputable digital repositories, such as institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, and recognized open-access repositories, to ensure the widest possible dissemination and long-term preservation of its published articles.

3. Preservation Format

Articles published in WAJSS will be archived in widely-accepted, non-proprietary formats to facilitate long-term preservation and accessibility. Preferred formats include PDF/A (Portable Document Format/Archive) and XML (eXtensible Markup Language) to ensure compatibility with future technologies.

4. Metadata

WAJSS will provide accurate and comprehensive metadata for each archived article. Metadata will include information such as title, author(s), abstract, keywords, publication date, and Article Identifier to enhance discoverability and citation of the content.

5. Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs)

In Future each published article in WAJSS will be assigned a DOI, a unique alphanumeric string that provides a permanent link to the article. DOIs ensure that articles can be easily found and cited, even if the website structure or URLs change over time.

6. Copyright and Licensing

Authors publishing in WAJSS will retain copyright of their work, granting the journal a license to publish the article. Authors may choose from various open-access licensing options (such as Creative Commons licenses) to specify how their work can be shared and reused, ensuring proper attribution and adherence to copyright laws.

7. Preservation Responsibilities

WAJSS editorial board and the publisher will collaborate to ensure that the published content is regularly archived and preserved. Regular backups of the entire journal website, including articles and associated metadata, will be performed to prevent data loss due to technical failures or cyber threats.

8. Access Policies

WAJSS is committed to providing open access to its archived content. Articles will be freely accessible to readers worldwide, promoting the dissemination of knowledge and facilitating academic research. Access to archived articles will not require a subscription or payment.
